About Virginia Beach, VA

Located on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia Beach is one of the most populated cities in the state.  The area stretches along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, making it a popular destination for travelers. The city is most well known for its miles of beaches and is even in the Guinness Book of Records as having the longest pleasure beach in the world.

Virginia Beach, once a rural community, has become a highly developed area with a variety of communities and attractions. The area is best known for is tourism, but the city is also home to several military bases, with NAS Oceana being the largest employer in Virginia Beach.

The city has a rich culture with several points of interest in the historical, scientific, and visual/performing arts areas. For example, the city is home to the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, which features regularly changing art exhibitions. Virginia Beach also has several historical sites such as the Adam Thoroughgood House and the Cape Henry Light House.
